CLA LISBON CONFERENCE |
|
|
The
emergence of the Internet and other computer-related technologies as fundamental to the
transaction of business today has created many new legal issues and forced attorneys to
think differently about traditional commercial law concepts. In this conference, the
Computer Law Association brings together widely recognized authorities from both Europe
and North America to share up-to-the-minute developments, strategic considerations, and
practical approaches to a variety of legal e-business issues. For example, software
licensing and development issues that are critical in todays world were not
commonplace even a few years ago. The pace of regulatory change has quickened, requiring
attorneys to frequently obtain updates in areas such as taxation, privacy, banking, and
use of electronic documents. Significant intellectual property law developments
emerge weekly. Moreover, the changing economic climate has brought bankruptcy issues to
the e-commerce world.

Luso-Americana Para o Desenvolvimento |
This conference will
combine in-depth analysis of new legal issues with updates on developing doctrines, case
law, and regulatory action. In addition, the conference will provide an overview of
existing legal constructs that have new importance in the age of electronic commerce. Our
speakers will compare and contrast developments in Europe with those in North America and
will provide a context for understanding the inter-relationships among the various new
bodies of law that are emerging worldwide.
As always, CLA speakers will present
comprehensive, practical information in a straightforward manner. Our mission is to
provide attorneys with the state-of-the-art information they need to successfully guide
their clients in the rapidly changing world of e-commerce.
